Here’s how being an APG&E customer helps Mother Earth.

1. Paperless Billing.
Did you know that switching all of your bills to e-bills and online invoices can save millions of trees every single year? It’s true! That’s why we make it easy for our Texas customers to enroll in e-billing and auto-pay. Let’s show mother nature some love by simplifying your billing and preserving the trees. 2. Green Products.
Offering our customers 100% renewable energy options is important to us and allows us to do our part in helping keep our earth clean and safe for future generations. Our CEO, Jay Harpole, takes a keen interest in renewables as well, just check out his bio.

3. Recycling Plan.
By now most of us realize that recycling just makes sense. We recycle cardboard and paper goods around the APG&E office, but what about the stuff that can’t go in the normal recycling bin? The EPA and other agencies suggest that electronic waste (aka e-waste) is the fastest growing waste stream in the world. As we transition or update our electronics, our team ensures that the outdated ones are properly recycled, instead of taking up space or leaking toxins in a landfill. You can use the EPA tool to locate a responsible e-waste recycler in your area to get rid of your outdated appliances that are collecting dust somewhere in your home right now. Go the extra mile and check with your neighbors and take their old stuff too!

4. Environmentally Responsible Workplace.
We’ve equipped our employees with reusable coffee mugs, water bottles, and grocery totes to do our part on cutting back on plastic pollution. We buy zero water bottles for our employees and use a water delivery service for our cooler. This ensures that our 5-gallon water bottles are recycled responsibly.

There is no right or wrong way when it comes to “going green.” It’s a lot easier than you think when it comes to doing the right thing for Mother Earth too, no big grand gesture necessary. A collective effort of incremental changes can reduce our negative impacts on the planet. Here’s more everyday ways in which you can help the planet.
