National Lineman Appreciation Day has been celebrated on April 18th since the founding by Congress in 2013. It is a day to recognize linemen for their efforts to help get the rest of us back up and running, often during very hazardous and difficult circumstances. They help to keep the power running and are some of the first on the ground after natural disasters. These men and women often forgo recovery of their own homes and property to help ensure that the community gets back up and running.
